Now selling At The Grove we have a wide variety of options to suit any lifestyle. I am building in Tarneit and after reading all the responses and arguments, I would just like to input my thoughts. We been visiting one of the estate where we building and to be honest I did not find any issues specially moving from South -East suburb.
Since last few visits, I have seen couple of cars with African-American just moving around the streets where there are no houses near by but just sit there in the car, as we wonder why someone would just sit there in the car where there is just a construction going on. This happened couple of time and we are just getting scared if we have made the right move.
The only thing I hate or don't feel confident about is the system here and the laws, as we all know people commits crime and gets bail like going to school and put their presence in front of the teacher!!!!
It's a joke :. It's so safe that there's regular mobs of gang hoons causing havok and mayhem It's the western Dandenong. Think about that and then think whether it's safe. We recently built in a new estate in Tarneit and unfortunately i regret that decision. We really should have put some more thought in our location. We're both friendly Aussies and i come from the country where people say hello to one another and are generally polite.
I look for respect in a community. And Tarneit definitely doesn't have that. Sit on the steps of Tarneit station and you'll see what I mean. People are disgusting towards one another both in person and trying to cut off someone in the carpark.. To the point where I've had to leave weapons in different areas of the house so if someone breaks in - i can defend the property because there's a lack of police.
I shouldn't have to live like that. Especially 3 months in! So no - i wouldn't recommend Tarneit unfortunately. The difference is Altona is an expensive area. If your neighbours aren't friendly it's because they are rich snobs. Not potheads or high on ice that will rob your house when you go to work.
Alton is actually one of the SAFEST areas in all of Victoria with official burglary and car theft at over two times below the state average. Tarniet is a bit I disagree! Not totally true! I live here for 8 years. Some parts of werribee and hoppers crossing ,yes.
Open your eyes Margie, Tarneit is sinking fast. We thankfully got out after five years of hell. RazbolchR, you have to be objective and specific. What type of hell did u face while in Tarneit and what part of Tarneit did u live or face the hell? On Reflections we witnessed several incidents of domestic violence. We called the police several times and they would often not come out. However on one occasion I said I thought the perpetrator had a knife and they soon came, followed by a MICA ambulance as she was beaten badly.
Noise whether from all night parties with the thudding base music or immature adult males with remote cars. One Anzac day funnily on the 11th hour a MICA and three police cars blazed down to subdue a young Asian guy coming down off ice.
Having our gravel nature strip destroyed by the scummy youth in our street, just because. Watching the area decline, no one seemed to care about keeping their gardens or nature strips tidy, cars parked all over them, really brought the area down.
Feel a world away from all that and much relieved to be out of there. This is not isolated to Tarneit but any area that is low socioeconomic. Supervise your kids if there are to young have some control if there old enough they should be able to make jugment.
No kids Joe knows it all. Let's lock our kids up inside Lot of assaults and burglaries. Look at the stats here. Prices are going up too much and you don't get much for your money here. We have not encountered a single bad incident here in Tarneit since we moved. No problem in staying in tarneit. It a good place. I have been living here for 6 years with my family of 2 kids.
It has all that you need good schools, train station and affordable housing. My preference is not to pay half a million for a crap unit in east where as you can buy a decent house here with that money. Well don't rely on the police, you have to be half dead before they consider coming out. Reported domestic violence full view in the street, poor woman was being knocked around.
Only concern was if a weapon was involved. Couldn't see one but lied and said possibly a knife. Thankfully they came eventually, followed by an ambulance, as she had been badly beaten, shameful. Also gave police information on nearby neighbors drug dealing with drop ins all hours of the night, again not interested.
I think it's expected behavior. To live away from all that is bliss. Think long and hard, do your research by going to estates later at night, check out the shopping centres and think about leisure activities you like to do as the roads are very unsafe with no connecting bike lanes on the main road. New estates are being crammed in so expect Point Cook traffic soon.
My wife's precious wedding jewellery had been stolen from my Tarneit house last week. Later we spoken with other people around my house , they told me the same story. Many families lost their valuables from homes in Tarneit and Truganina suburbs during day time when usually people go for work. Most of families now facing this problem in Tarneit and Truganina suburbs where people suspect thieves using gold detector to search for hidden jewellery.
It's really hard live in Tarneit anymore. Another dickhead promoting living in Tarneir, Melbournes worst ghetto. Vic police website has all the facts you need. Tarneit is not a place to raise a family, period. Rented in Tarneit in , had an attempted break in. Recently moved back to Tarneit 2 months ago and had another attempted break in. Luckily I was home to scare them away both times. Expecting a baby soon and this place does not feel safe at all for a family.
You're so right, please move to a better suburb and look after your family! Never seen so many tattooed women in my life till I moved out to Werribee. Tarneit is Hoppers Crossing by another name postcode The houses in Tarneit are mass produced big houses on small lots. And the rates aren't cheap. It has poor infustructure with lots of roundabouts and single landed rounds. Which causes bottle necks. It lacks basic amenities so you'll end up doing the bulk of your shopping at Werribee Plaza.
Finally, it's schools aren't preforming particularly well. Only people supporting the move to Tarneit are people like Shoebe who have wasted their money and life living there.
Terrible place and thats backed by Vic police data. Not safe for families. Manor lakes in Wyndham vale is the best area in the whole of Wyndham. I live and love tarneit! When will Tarneit Central shopping centre open or when will construction will start? The opinions expressed here are those of the individual and not those of Homely. No, roads are to busy and dangerous for kids.
Answer question. Rentals in Tarneit, VIC Search Tarneit, VIC rental properties. We feel very safe as we have home security cameras and alarms installed in our house. Crimes are everywhere. What Im trying to say is that if you want peace of mind, then buy these home security devices as if youre installing a smoke alarm! So far, I have no negative comments about this suburb!
Suburb is safe but busy. Love the city feeling about it, many shops and good quality restaurants and entertainment nearby. Pacific Werribee is a great place for shopping and old Geelong Road has all the shops you could ever ask for. Half an hour to the city or just 26 minutes with the train.
Issue is the train is too full but I believe there is a second train station underway. So many recreational places for the kiddos including parks, rivers and child care centres to chose from too. Of course in any fast growing city especially with so many young families moving in each week and with so many teenagers, there will be some issues but nothing serious.
The data from Sensis is outdated, Tarneit is definitely full of young families moving from either south eastern suburbs or country areas as the house prices are much more affordable. Forgot to mention there are many good schools nearby to choose from. We have been here 5 years.
Affordable, safe with great parks and shops. Good schools in the area both private and public. We have 3 kids and really love living here. Proud to call Tarneit home. I've always lived in nearby Hoppers Crossing or Werribee, and never really liked Tarneit as I felt it was too new, too cramped and lacked soul. Sure, there are pockets of Tarneit like this, but as Tarneit grows older, the more soul it gains. It's perfect for families with so many parks, walking trails and bike paths.
It's very affordable, so you can get a huge house for half the price on the other side of town, and save your money for other fun things in life. We ended up buying across from the Werribee River, which is probably my favourite spot in the whole of Tarneit.
It's very peaceful here and the neighbourhood is great! I'm not one to buy into a suburb just for its name, so I'm proud to say I live in Tarneit because my family absolutely loves it. I've got friends who live in nice suburbs on the Eastside, and that's great, but for me the affordability to quality of life ratio in Tarneit hits the sweet spot.
I have been living here for the last 14 months and absolutely loving it. Moved here from Adelaide and I was sceptical due to some of the reviews but honestly it's the best place we have lived. After living in Sydney and Adelaide, Tarneit in Melbourne is just so much nicer and the cost is much more affordable.
Homely feeling, many different nationalities all friendly with eachother, respect when you walk down the street many nice people who always greet you and make you feel at home.
Lots of families with kids playing on the streets and at the parks. The shopping centre nearby is amazing and anything you need really is within 5 kms. We are just behind Coles off Tarneit road and we are also here to stay :. I've only been here for two years but we are loving it. We moved here from Collingwood due to my husbands work, it's just so different and I never would have thought but I really don't miss the busy Collingwood at all. The parks are great for the kids, big open spaces, plenty of parking at the shops, community is lovely all our neigboors are so friendly, so many shops nearby and we really enjoy all the restaurants at Pacific Werribee.
Never seen any crime but I guess you get that anywhere in Melbourne now. I love my back yard and green grass! We're definetely here to stay and so proud call Tarneit home.
Everything is close by and the city and airport within only 20min drive. I love my decision to move here from endeavour hills. Better off moving to the inner west where its still cheap at the moment before airport train lines open.
This place full of refugees and drug users. Inner west cheap? Lol 1in 30? Where do you get these numbers from. I agree, have been here a long time and never have experienced refugees or drug users.
I have no idea why someone would put such a false comment on here, maybe they just don't want more people moving into the area but this is so not true.
We purchased a house in Moorookyle estate back in and lived there for 7 years. At first we were so happy.
Lots of families at the parks and friendly neighbours. Over the years it just continued to decline drastically. Moorookyle estate was left unusable by my family as teens would terrorise the club house. We were robbed and on a seperate occasion had people banging on our doors and windows in the middle of the night. We felt very unsafe. We couldn't take our children to the local Mcdonalds because of the amount of teenagers getting in fights and vandalising cars in the intersection in front.
Local schools have an excessive amount of children per year level and everything is strictly zoned so you don't get a choice of where to send them. The traffic is also horrendous.
Was getting way to hard to get anywhere. Massive difference from when we first moved there. We are so happy we moved. Such a huge difference in lifestyle. Which McDonalds are you speaking about? I take my teenagers to the local McDonalds every weekend and have never seen any fights or cars vandalised? Was this maybe a one off incident? It would be good to give more information so people know what you are talking about.
Thank you. I agree. You can feel it is dangerous just by driving around the area but you pay for what you get. Ye please give more information. What on earth are you talking about? Any McDonalds after hours is a place for youngsters but you say vandalism? Ive been here 5 years and never felt unsafe or seen anything unusual. Each for there own. Good luck! It is a safe community in Tarneit. I have never witnessed this. Yes it is a very safe community.
Of course there are many young families and some with teenagers here but I have never experienced anything like this anywhere in Tarneit or even felt unsafe. I walk my dogs in the night and people are always pleasant and say hello. Break ins happen in all melbourne suburbs, the city of wyndham is the fastest developing in melbourne and Tarneit is huge, you can travel 38kms and still be in Tarneit. I think there are more chances to get broken into if you live in the newly developed areas with no neighboors.
I have been living in Tarneit from one year. LOve this suburb ,close to cbd only 20 min by train. People from different countries living together. Close to Werribee shopping centre and lot of places to eat authentic food. Kids love school Tarneit p9. Lot of infrastructure development is going on.. Recently moved to Tarneit and finding the place good for families with children.
I moved in tarneit in new estate. Love people all are from different cultures, professionals and hard working. Kids go to public school p9 , school is much better from where i moved and kids loved alot because they are able to make friends from different backgrounds. Lot of parks and shopping centres just around everycorner.
Duplication of leakes road is on its place which will do heavy lifting of traffic. New train station is already proposed with new government and private schools. So loving it and waiting too see overcome ones all estates are complete. Was afraid of crime as heard from others but did not experienced single nusiance in five months time.
I was worried about all the bad reviews about this area. I moved to new area which is so good. I love this area. Affordable , well planned area. The area is very popular with young families so there are a number of local private and public schools in and around Tarneit including Baden Powell College, Tarneit Senior College, Thomas Carr Catholic College, Westbourne Grammar and Al-Taqwa College as well as some well utilised child care and early learning centres.
Beautiful suburb with lots of parks and everything close by. Good schools and quick to get to the city. It will be booming suburb soon. Public transport is getting better along with duplication of leaked road. I have lived with my family in Tarneit for around 12 years and have seen the area change from a small country town to the place it is today.
Now it is getting busy and the traffic has increased a lot since we first moved here. I have never once seen an African gang so I can't relate to the people who claim there is a problem here.
Tarneit is a multicultural place where everyone gets on well with each other. Lots of Indian families have moved to the area, they are friendly and respectful and I regularly see the guys getting together for a game of cricket.
There are great sporting facilities here including the swimming centre and the Rex centre for basketball. Now Tarneit station is up and running we can get to the city in around 27 minutes and we are just over an hour away from the Great Ocean Road.
I am not writing this review to somehow increase the price of my property, this is all based on my genuine experience of living in the area for 12 years. The downsides would be the traffic and the lack of decent schools in the area. If you are a family considering moving here you will need to pick your school carefully. State primary schools are not too good and a couple of the Catholic primary schools are not good either. My advice would be to look at Bethany or St. When we first came to Melbourne we were over in Malvern on the east side.
People told us to avoid the west. They were wrong. We much prefer living here than we did in Malvern. Good luck, if you are in any doubt, come out here and take a look around, visit the Plaza and get a feel for the people here. Basically the crime is due to petty criminals and bored people. There has been times I have been witness to some petty criminal here, if they step into my property I just give them a mouthful and they generally apologise and never do that again.
Was a major rodent plague which was extreme 2 years ago. A few to many cats left out at night. There has not been many times I've felt unsafe although I have felt like there's a ghost or more around the place. Doesn't help there are crosses laid in white rocks in the park making me very suspicious of a Leake family member causing missing items - he hates my fake nose ring for some reason.
So yeah, there's ghosts here. I also am near skeleton Creek too, hence where name comes from. A few bat's and lots of native wildlife and flora, fauna. The trees smell great around now, so pleasing. I'm not sure what is the problem with multiculturalism, I'm whiter than a normal person lol but I'm not an aboriginal so I can't say or complain about multiculturalism because technically we are all non Australians unless aboriginal so yeah, what's up with the hate?
Don't be scared of youths or weird stares from different cultures. We're all new here. Smile and you'll be alright here or anywhere for that fact. We have loved our home and environment. We outfitted our home with multiple cameras and view those from our phones and devices.
We also use phone tracking if we walk without the other. So precautions make for a smooth life. There are shopping malls but no shopping towns - which is a pity but we have many things here.
The local cafe has a very generous reward system! I lived in the city and Southbank for 10 years, Noble Park for a few, had a lot of dealings with Brunswick, Preston, Reservoir and I can say Tarneit is far better than the outer suburbs mentioned. However, I wouldn't recommend commuting by car from here anywhere East and a downer is we live 3km from the school which means I drive our child to school in the winter. I wish it was closer.
You need to drive to most establishments out here but I feel our home - if you choose in the right pocket - makes up for that. Set yourself up in your home because you'll spend more time in than out.
Tarneit is multicultural, modern, houses are available on big and small lots, you get what you pay for. Everything is close by, great schools private or goverment, child care, medical centres on every corner, shops, cafes, walking tracks.
You really don't miss anything. Yes it is multicultural and all those haters need to move out if they can't handle it. Yes it is a family suburb as you mainly see families living here. A young suburb that has evolved too fast meaning lack of infrastructure and a crowd at the train station but really positives outweigh any slight negatives. This really is the place to be if your after a good family life within half an hour to the city.
Crime rate is low compared to other suburbs. I personally have never seen anything after hours, I do live in the older part of Tarneit so I can't talk about every estate as there are over 36, residents here but where I live I must say it really is very quiet. Unfortunately prices have skyrocketed in the last 5 years, overall a great suburb which has over people moving into the area each week, this is the fastest growing suburb in Melbourne!
We moved to Tarneit from Brunswick, its so peaceful and easy to get to the city from here, train in 26 minutes with only 4 stops! Quiet, nice houses, everything at your doorstep and still affordable.
After living here for 2 years I would never go back to inner melbourne suburbs. We live in the older part of Tarneit off Tarneit road adjacent to Hoppers Crossing. Have been here around 18 years. Our kids have grown up, lifestyle is good. There have not been any negatives for us, we moved from south eastern suburbs as property here was more affordable at the time. The new train station is great, gets you to the city in 26 minutes.
There has been some recent crime in the community centre but unfortunately these gangs are making their marks across Melbourne. I have never felt unsafe or even worried about walking around, people are friendly and there are so many families around. Tarneit has been designed well with many parks and schools which make it a popular choice for young families. There is so much more now than what there was when we first moved here. It has been great watching this suburb emerge from a country style place to a lively city, the only thing I miss is the peace and quiet.
It has changed from quiet to extremely busy with all the shopping centres and the roads are so full, traffic has becoming a daily routine. Generally speaking I think its the people that create this vibrant suburb. We have many new migrants, many young families, some oldies including myself! If you are looking for a good suburb in Melbourne where everything is within an arms reach then this is a good choice. Hopefully with the increased population the infrastructure will improve.
Love Tarneit but miss the peace and quiet! I am quite surprised with some of these reviews. Yes unfortunately the crime rate has increased in Melbourne but this is everywhere, not just Tarneit.
Older parts of Tarneit with less rental properties have no issues with crime, they are well designed for families and neighbors are friendly, crime rate is low compared to other suburbs.
Look up Victorian statistics, crime rates were worst in the inner city and in some regional cities. In Tarneit we are lucky enough to have it all, schools nearby, shopping centres, walking tracks, great access to city via fast v-line train. Been here 5 years and we love it! Only good is train station.. We moved just over a year ago Lot if new estatrs coming up here. Tarneit has very bright future. The suburb itself is very planned. With lot of big roads and next road expansion project coming in.
Regd crime, where it is not. Check racv and vic gov crime statistics. That make it clear that Tarneit is much safer than other. And i believe that if it has to happen with you, it will be in any part of the world. Regd cafe, new estates coming with lot of cafe, restaurants and shopping options. Just got new cafe in stockland grove estate.
One more coming by next year. Around Davis rd, new coles and many more cafe options in couple of years. Many more private and public school options for the kids near to the house. We got goodnews, Grange P12 and Westbourne grammer near to our house. For me this is the suburb i was looking for.
Heh, Tarneit has a bright future. I guess you mean when the suburb starts on fire due to race riots and African gang violence. Have you been reading the news? News and facts are a little different. News business is to get clicks, wont get a click of headline reads positive. Small block of land Driving around Tarneit anytime is like driving through peak hour traffic every hours..
Tarneit will only be good for investment and not good to live in. If you look at realestate you can see for yourself there are a lot of rental properties listed That is my 2cents Recently moved here from WA. This suburb has everything to offer from great parks near by and great big shopping centres round the corner with heaps of selection. Train station is very central and has heaps of parking for people going to work in the morning, not to mention the easy flowing accesibility in and out of the suburb.
This is a very family friendly suburb with lots to do. I am currently in the process of purchasing an established PPOR in the riverdale estate after renting here the last 6 months. I moved here 2 years ago. All the negative reviews here is not true. Can anyone explain which subrub is crime free. Even you buy 2 million dollars property. I love here living with my wife.
It's very close to two cities. It's growing very rapidly. This is the best time to move into the market. We moved from Sydney. This subrub is much much better than 1 million subrub in Sydney Blacktown. Just try to move to Sydney in Blacktown then you will realise what the meaning of crime.
These negative reviews people are talking nonsense. We are renting a house near Tarneit road, so many shops and parks, pacific werribee nearby, safe for families no issues at all.
Clean area with neat tidy houses and lawns, really crime is everywhere in melbourne but I can say after living here for 2 years I have never seen anything unusual. People around are mainly business people working in city or trades people working in local area or laverton, we hope we will have enough for a deposit soon so we can buy here.
Community feeling is great and most people are friendly, typical australian suburb. You recommended tarneit to tourists lol.
You a developer or homeowner? Trying to boost house prices? Most people who review here write false reviews because they are invested in the area.
I have lived in the area and could not get out faster. Please do actual data based research and you will see not everything is as rosy as it seems. Tarneit and Truganina are quickly becoming crime and gang dens. Have to say this is correct. A ton of investors leaving glowing reviews to dupe buyers into thinking it's a safe sub to raise their families. That can be said about any suburb. Your comments are very uninformed and slandering.
Statistics don't always tell us the full truth. There may have been 1 robbery in 1 year and then the following year there were 3. But hey, don't take my word for it. Come and see for yourself. And if you dont want to catch a bus to the train station, find a house closer to itpretty stupid to make that a con since every suburb would be the same.
There is t a train Station around every corner. Totally agree with you Faisal. Look, the real estate agents are offended with someone writing a REAL review!
I got punched by junkies that stole my wallet. I walk the pram around the streets and walk paths in Truganina and see other families doing the same, no junkies. Allura is a nice part of Truganina. The streets usually look really nice and all the houses are pretty. There's usually plenty of parks and transport around too. Nothing bad has happened when I lived there but I have heard of more crimes recently on the news such a break ins and stabbings etc.
It's hard to find a decent sized house with a decent sized backyard with out spending a lot on rent. The positives sides are - open spaces, multi multiculturalism, lots of Food and Shopping options, Close to a V-line station and overall a calm quite place.
There has been an influx of hoons or negatively influenced kids, but not so much to be concerned. There has been quite a few break-ins around the area, which seemingly is done considering rich occupants have lots of cash lying around. Problems of a still new suburb I believe. Overall still happy with the place.
Hi Ajith I booked in The Grove. Not sure is ot good decision. Is ir safe for family? We really love living here! After living in Richmond for many years this was the best thing we ever did after having the kids. Safe, sound, clean, everything within easy reach, parks, walking tracks, childcare, medical centres, shopping centres.
