Planting the banner wow where is the banner

So I recommend planting the banner and immediately going to the foot of the tower to make it easier. Sorry, something went wrong. Confirmed, the Bloodmaul and Gurn Grubnosh spawn at the bottom of the tower and stay there static, not moving unless engaged. This means that the issue exists in game at the moment i wrote this message.

Quest Planting the Bannert - Issue: The event has to start upon you place the banner on top of the tower: It has to summon 2 orcs 3 orcs 3 orcs Gurn Grubnosh Once you kill Gurn Grubnosh, you are able to loot the quest item needed to complete the quest.

Daveonx added the Working but need improvements label Jun 8, Rushor self-assigned this Jun 11, Rushor closed this Dec 22, Make sure you target the geomancer and mash your opener as it arrives at the top. There will be a period where the mobs are unable to be attacked, but if you keep hitting your opener I recommend cheap shot you will get it off before they hit you.

For this wave use Blade fury and cloak of shadows to stop some damage from the caster. Should be a fairly simple affair 3rd wave: Same as 2nd in that you need to make sure you get your opener off before they hit you.

Target any mob as they all are melee classes and do roughly the same damage. Final wave: Simple make sure you have full health and burn him : One thing to remember is that he enrages so make sure you have some combo points for a kidney shot.

His enrage should wear about the same time as your stun. When he is not enraged he dosent hit that hard so you will kill him before he kills you.

Comment by If you complete the chain of 5 man quests from Mog'dorg you will become 'king' of the ogres and they will be neutral to you. This includes the waves of mobs from this quest. Makes it a very easy quest to solo. Comment by Nivrax Adding all coments up: this quest is wrongly labeled as group especially the "3 players" part.

You just have to fight multiple standard mobs at once, simple cc is usually enough to make this quest soloable, not to mention that you have plenty of time between waves to eat and drink. Comment by syth in the hut at 42,46 the is a named Ogre Korgaah? I this the 'champion'? Comment by i just soloed with my 67 rogue its easy for a rogue just kill one or two when they come using evasion if u want and then vaish and kill those who left before very easy.

Comment by Im not sure exactly when it happen, but this quest is bugged. After the second wave no more ogres come up and thats that.

I Talked to a Gm tonight about it Oct 29, 07 and they are aware of the quest having issues. Comment by smoo Rogue: 1. Clear Tower. Start Event. First Wave: Stealth. Wait for them to turn Aggro, distract, sap one. Kill one. Second Wave: Stealth. Wait again, Sap one. Bladefury remaining both. Third Wave: Stealth. Wait, Sap. Attack one, Blind the other, kill while blind, or get him as low as possible. Repeat Step 4. Kill the "boss". Comment by Soloed as a 66 enhancement shaman. Just nuked the first 2, on the 2nd group I popped my earth elemental, having it remain to the 3rd fight, when it died but still was able to finish off the remaining mob, then beat the crap out of the "boss" he hits hardest when he speeds his attacks up, but after which he will be dazed from exhaustion, perfect time to heal yourself.

I popped 1 super hp and naruu just to be safe, but most likely could have done without. Comment by Soloed this very easy as lvl 67 feral druid. First one: 2 ogres. Just nuked them down. Place yourself on the northwest side of the tower and eat and stealth. Attack when ready. Adrenaline Rush, Evasion and Trinkets used again during fight. Nuke FTW!

Eat and stealth. Another 3 Ogres. Trinkets, Blade Flurry used. Nuked and healthpot. Eat, Stealth and attack Gurn. Use trinkets and Blade Flurry if available. During the fight Evasion should become available. Use it : He went down pretty fast and it's a pretty easy solo :. Comment by boxtor Soloed as a 70 fire mage. It is alot easier if you do the quest where you become neutral to them. If you are neutral to them, they will not attack you between waves.

Comment by Soloed at 68 feral druid. This quest was kind of bugged for me When I got to the tower there were 4 ogres standing ontop of each other. Went to work on them didn't have to use the banner. As I was killing the first set of 4 working on the last one , 2 more ran up the ramp.

Went to work on them. Then two more came up as I was killing the last one from the second wave. Finally, I was working on the last guy from the 3rd wave and Gurn Grubnosh came up and started wailing on me. I didn't have much time to heal between waves. Pretty easy but the last guy goes nuts at the end and has to take a pot to survive it. Comment by Kemaro Easily solo'd as 68 enhance shaman. Comment by Soloed easily as 66 rogue Tree: Subtlety Got my banner at 46, First wave, 2 ogres.

Pretty easy to deal, just blind 1 and kill the other asap, then go for the next 1. Second wave, 3 ogres. Sap the geomancer, start killing the other 2, evasion, killed 1, health potion, blind on the geomancer, killed the second, then killed the geomancer. Third wave, 3 ogres. Sap 1 of the ogres. Sap on the boss, cheap shot, hemorrhage, ghostly strike, kidney shot. Used preparation and evasion again, and just kept him on stun lock. Took me 10 min to complete the quest,.

Comment by Ambusher Soloed as 67 enhancement shammy. Put up str of earth, grace of air and mana spring also searing totem against Gurn. Didn't have to use any pots or anything, popped shamanistic rage against Gurn, though. I'm not sure if this is normal, but he missed on half his attacks if not more. I never had to heal in fights, only healed between fights. To sum this up: pretty easy, at least if you're an enhancement shammy, I have NO idea why it says you should be 3 players.

Comment by Used Dhcstab's Rogue guide and it worked like a champ. But, I died when fighting Gurn, however the quest did not fail! So I hurried back to the tower, and burned him down to complete the quest.

Not too hard. Comment by I was doing this on my Prot pala The problem was he spawns in the lower part of the tower, and i was ofc standing on the top of the tower. I was waiting for the named guy to come when i realised somehow a hunter of the opposite faction tagged him where he spawns bigging of the ramp, while i stand on top of the tower , and i got no credit for the kill etc.

So i had to run back, abandoned the quest kill another champion and do the event again. Next try I runned down to prevent this for happening but I was not able to target him before he was at the top. There might be glitch on this quest which makes him attackable the moment he spawns Only thing I can think of. Be warned. Other than that it's easy kill for prot pala just the normal aoe-stuff on the waves. Comment by Ladno As a 66 nelf druid, I was able to solo this with ease.

I had to pop a health pot half way through because a frickin' Bloodmaul Skirmisher spawned on top of me as I was fighting Gurn, but it was still a walk in the park. Now, I acknowledge my enormous ass in Dire Bear Form helloooo, corner tank , but come on — three people?

That's kind of offensive. Comment by bladeyama Confirmed the cords as stated by cheboy 42, 46 is to get the flag. Is the Tower where you place the Flag. It was extremely easy for me to solo as a DPS Warrior. I killed the mobs in this order. Good luck and have fun i added some screen shots. Comment by not that hard to solo! Hunter lvl68 here.. Comment by This quest its very easy for all class. If u die this quest not field so u can go back spawn your self heal your self and continue in battle.

So its very easy. Comment by Allakhazam tower is at 46, Comment by Allakhazam When placing this banner you will get 3 waves then Gurn.

He is lev 66 non elite. All waves come up to the tower after 10 sec of killing the previous wave. Comment by Allakhazam soloed 68 shadow priest died once on boss. Comment by Allakhazam The correct location of the tower is 46, NOT 46, Comment by Allakhazam what is this with you guys? Comment by Allakhazam Just soloed this quest as a 67 Shadow Priest. The Northern building is the one that is, well, most north in the camp. As you go up the ramp, there might be a roaming mob that you will have to kill, if not, it will come later, and you should wait for it before beginning the quest.

There will be one mob already on the top of the tower, kill him. He respawned a couple seconds before I finished killing Grubnosh. Plant the flag now. The mobs will come up from the bottom of the ramp and attack you immediately. You can eat and drink during the different sets of mobs. There are 4 sets of mobs that come after you, I believe. However, he hits extremely fast and can stun you with an effect he uses. Edited, Sep 5th pm by ajayshay. Comment by Allakhazam Easy enough to solo as a lvl 66 balance druid.

If you pull then down to the base of the tower you have plenty of time to drink up before you pull the next lot down. Comment by Allakhazam I soloed also with rogue, use all cd blind, bladeflurry, adneralinrush , vanish etc Comment by Allakhazam I soloed this one as a 67 Hunter.

I died 3 times, bt I ran back, resurrected at the base of tower, ate and drank before I went up again, and just continued until done Gurn Grubnosh I did without dying but I had to heal my pet alot, used almost all my mana on that.

My pet is a 67 Bloodmaul Battle Worg with armor and Health. Edited, Feb 12th am by Trymemore. Comment by Allakhazam While lvling my priest, i did a lot of instances in Outlands, i still had to quest everything in BEM when i got to If you do the ogri'la chain first, all the ogres will be neutral to you, so you got plenty of time to rec. Cause when u killed a wave, the next wave comes, but just stands there untill you attack them, giving you all the time you need to rec up.

Only posting this in case some others didnt do this quest before 70 for whatever reason. Comment by Allakhazam where did you find the banner? Comment by Allakhazam Solod as 69 Protection Warrior. Used Retaliation and a health potion on one of the 3-mob waves that came with an additional respawn, and used Last Stand and the health from Regal Protectorate on the 'boss. You can pretty much count on a respawn at the top of the tower if you solo this. Boss is not elite, but does have a lot of health.

Comment by Allakhazam Whaha! Was this a 3 man quest? Lol I was reading all the comments here and it seemed pretty hard, so I drank some potions and used a scroll of Stamina to prepare. I'm a Feral Druid and just placed the banner.

Then I shifted into bearform and started attacking them. Then Gurn came, easy fight too. Comment by Allakhazam Solo'ed as a 65 rogue. I had to blow every cooldown and died once. The biggest problem is the respawn on the top of the ramp. First wave was not a problem and I was taken when they saw through my stealth and was unable to imp sap one from the start.

I was able to bandage and eat before next wave showed up. Eating far from the ramp entrance will prevent from being seen immediately. Second wave was much easier, although I blew some cooldowns for it. Before the third wave showed up, the respawns were started. I blew more cooldowns just to take those ones down and then I was worried I had no cooldowns left for the final bossman. Well, he showed up and killed me easy with the respawns. Bummed, I ran back and to my surprise the bossman did not despawn.

I waited down the ramp for the patrol then killed it. I went back to top, sapped main, then sapped guy in back. Near the end of the fight, the sap wore off, I threw a blind, and I was able to kill the bugger and loot. Any class with some crowd control could solo this, in my opinion. Possibly any class could find a means of soloing it without crowd control. I am not sure what happens if you die before the last guy shows up, but I would guess the waves continue as you kill them. By not finishing a wave, you can buy time until the next wave comes.

Rest assured, if you die, you can pick up where you left off, probably until the banner disappears which is probably a long time. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed as a 67 priest, died once, but he did not despawn. He hits hard. Comment by Allakhazam The champs spawn on the top floor of the buildings, need to go up the ramp on the side of them.. So rather than wait till morning for dps, I try soloing it. For some reason, I planted the banner, and the first wave came. Killed them easily enough.

Second wave came, and I dotted them up, but they were killing me too fast. So I jumped off, levitated past the rock wall to the North, and they didnt follow. I run back no aggro yet , and see theyre standing in front of the banner, at the top of the tower.

Keep in mind, im halfway up the ramp, where there's a Skull-Wind Chime looking thing hanging. I shield, and approach the group of mobs-they engage. I dot and fear them They just roam up and down the ramp, never aggroing any other mob. When the next wave comes, it runs right past me the mobs for some reason cannot be attacked until they reach the top of the tower. I simply repeat the process. Comment by Allakhazam Ok this is so easy, soooo very easy.

ITs not, its patheticly easy for a lvl 67 feral druid anyways. One thing to note is that u need to go to the top of a watch tower, no buildings or anything, just looks like an ordinary tower with ramps spiraling around it to its top.

Mobs are all regular, none elites, last wave the so called boss hits harder then the regular ogres but not by much, his attacks do dam to me 11k armor. He does enrage. Only class that should have trouble soloing this would be the clothies.

EDIT: boss comes solo no adds. Edited, Nov 28th am by mydruiddontheal. Comment by Allakhazam I was wondering about this quest at first, but when i was near, i decidet to give a shot. Nice, o didnt get dmg at all, pet stayed alive and i just ride away : nice group quest. Prinsessa, 67 mark spec hunter. Comment by Allakhazam not enough space to do this as a mage Comment by Allakhazam Northmaul Tower is at 46, Soloed as a 67 warrior.

Planted the flag, hit stealth, sapped one of the two in the first wave took about 10 seconds for them to show up , killed the other one, then killed the one I sapped. Walked as far away from the ramp as I could, ate to restore health, and hit stealth while eating You DID know you can be in stealth mode while you're eating right? Killed him, the blind wore off on the third one just in time, so I killed him.

The Sap wore off just as I was finishing up with the blinded guy, so I killed the sapped guy. Walked away from the ramp, ate, hit stealth while eating. Same thing as 2nd wave, only I had to use Evasion and a Super Healing Potion because killing them took a bit longer than the 2nd wave, and my health was getting low.

Heavy Netherweave bandages might work for classes that don't have stealth, but it would be close. Big Guy: Used Preparation to instantly cool-down Evasion. Used Shadowstep to get behind him, and Premeditation to give me a couple extra combo points. Ambushed him crit for tyvm , spammed Sinister Strike, and used Eviscerate every time I had 5 combo points.

Used Ghostly Strike and Evasion when I had about half my health left. Big Guy died just as a patrol showed up, so I looted and Vanished. Had about one-third of my health remaining. Had exactly 8, health-points with all the buffs odd, indeed, to have a perfectly round number like that and the lowest my health ever got was during the 3rd wave when it hit 1, or so right before I killed the last guy in that wave.
